Creating Linked Text Boxes

This post will guide you on how to connect text boxes across various text editing softwares such as InDesign, Illustrator and Word. It is useful when handling long streams of continuous text.

  1. Create a text box as you normally would according to desired shape and size. Enter text in text box – don’t worry if you can’t see all of it!
  2. When you’re ready to create a linked text box, click the small red square on the bottom right of your current text box. It will then morph your cursor into a small preview of words (for Adobe apps)
  3. Simply click and drag your cursor to create a new text box that will be linked.
  4. Repeat process if necessary!
