When adding a voiceover to a project in Final Cut Pro, generally the user would want to record in a program that’s designed specifically for recording and editing, however Final Cut does still have a function that allows the users to record their own voiceovers.

First, adjust the playhead to the position on the timeline in which the voiceover should go, then select Window > Record Voiceover.

Adjust the input device to match the desired microphone, and press the red circle once all the settings are in order and the voiceover is ready to be recorded.

Note: If the program doesn’t seem to be recognizing your microphone, check the computers sound setting by going to your system preferences.
