Importing audio into a computer, so that you can play a digital file, edit it, or use it in a film you’re making, is a multistep process.
- First, connect the audio hardware to the Mac and check that it is powered up and playing correctly.
- Second, open the Sound panel in System Preferences and check the Input and Output settings to adjust the volume of the recording coming in and out of the Mac.
- Third, once you’ve confirmed that the audio you want is streaming in clearly, you are ready to capture it with Audacity.
